So as we all head into the new year we are all faced with the concept of New Years resolutions. Oh I have made
them before only to fall short of my goal as life (family and work) take over my good intentions. So this year I decided to get my friend Angela involved in my New Year resolution so that I have to be accountable to someone other than myself. Oh, I guess this would be a good place to tell you what my New Years Resolutionis.........well the plan is to be
physically active for a minimum of 30 minutes for all 365 days of the year. That is right every single day of 2012. So now you might be asking why are you blogging about it? Well Angela and I were trying to figure out how to keep each other on track, she lives in London and I live in Collingwood. We tried google calendar but that was really frustrating and then Angela sent me an excel sheet that had dates on it and that is not that much fun. So when I was snowshoeing the other day I thought to myself maybe I should blog about our efforts - make us accountable not only to each other but anyone else who might be interested in what we are up to. So that is the beginning of this blog I hope you enjoy and I look forward to your comments.

Day 65, 66 & 67 Family Time

Monday was the first day of week (no kidding) but it was also the first day of the next session of the ladies conditioning group at Active Life Conditioning and it was testing day.  Testing day includes a quick set of tests - strength or cardio - that are measured and then we do the same tests at the end of the session to show our improvements.  So now that we have that under our belt we are good to go for this session!

Tuesday (Day 66) was a busy day and I found myself at the end of the day starting to stress about getting my 30 minutes in.  Sean had heard that it was Oreo's 100th anniversary and he thought we should celebrate - with an Oreo blizzard from Dairy Queen.  The kids agreed.  So here was my chance to get some company for my evening workout.  I proposed that we walk to Dairy Queen to get the treat - well the agreed and off we went.  Worked out great - we got a 40 minute walk in and we enjoyed a mini blizzard half way through the walk.  Worked out so great that Matthew suggested that we should always walk when we are going to go to Dairy Queen that way will have earned our treat - great idea Matthew!

Wednesday (Day 67) I now know why I work out first thing on Wednesday mornings because it is impossible to fit it in any other time during the day.  Wednesdays always seem to be my busiest day at work and the evening - well even busier with family things!  Again I found myself stressing about fitting in my 30 minutes for the day - Sean and Matthew were out so I did not have anyone to look after Kade so the only option was to figure out something to do with him.  Since the weather was nice - still over 10 degrees after 7pm - I decided to see if he would be interested in going for walk with me - it was a tough sell - he thought he should just go home and rest as he had had a long day! But when I mentioned that it would be just us he seemed more willing. And we had a great time walking through the neighbourhood, talking and holding hands (I know so cute)  I even got the odd I Love you mom and kisses! Best 40 minute walk ever :)
